We uploaded a sneak preview of next KISS60 version on YouTube. Most significant improvement is the new User Interface which is pure Flash Lite 1.1 (works much faster on real device than the video). Behind the scenes, there is a robust architecture powered by KuneriLite 0.9.4.
There are also some new features in next version. Now it’s possible to define screensaver timeout and backlight durations. It’s also easier to integrate your existing Flash Lite screensavers, in the new version.
We expect it to be ready at the end of this month and planning to make the first release in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. If you are going there, don’t forget to visit us;)
Pete gives a tip on Augnofi Forums about the 20 minutes of guided tour of iPhone. Looks great and makes me say “I want one”.
According to Apple’s press release, YouTube will be available on iPhone on 29th June. YouTube will not be fully supported on iPhone, but will only play H.264 encoded movie clips (not Flash obviously) .
To achieve higher video quality and longer battery life on mobile devices, YouTube has begun encoding their videos in the advanced H.264 format, and iPhone will be the first mobile device to use the H.264-encoded videos. Over 10,000 videos will be available on June 29, and YouTube will be adding more each week until their full catalog of videos is available in the H.264 format this fall.

Happy Sunday news from Jukka from S60 Multimedia blog; apparently YouTube Mobile is live! Only thing you need is a handset that supports streaming video (RTSP/3GP with H263/AMR) and a unlimited data plan or WLAN.
Site warns you about data traffic and recommends an unlimited data plan.

My first trial was not very successful, due my lovely E61 didn’t let me to use WLAN in Offline mode. Another attempt also was defeated, telling me that I do not have enough bandwidth. I don’t know what happened (most probably E61 didn’t like the first video I chose) but my third trial worked on Free Hugs champaign. It feels cool:)
