Here is our first KuneriLite advert. Hand drawn N95 8GB using Microsoft Paint and a mouse. I believe video is quite self explanatory. Enjoy ;)

Play FLV video with Flash Lite 3 & Flash Media Server 303.28.08

Just saw that Pasi has a nice article telling step by step how to setup a system to play FLV and live video with Flash Lite 3.0 and Flash Media Server 3.

  • Install Flash Media Server 3 (download developer version)
  • There are a few sample FLV files in applications/vod/media folder, so you can use one of them for testing
  • Create a new Flash Lite 3.0 file in Flash
  • Add a new Video symbol to library
  • Drag this Video symbol to Stage and give instance name to it: video
  • Type following programming to timeline

See here for details.

KISS60 0.9 sneak preview01.11.08

We uploaded a sneak preview of next KISS60 version on YouTube. Most significant improvement is the new User Interface which is pure Flash Lite 1.1 (works much faster on real device than the video). Behind the scenes, there is a robust architecture powered by KuneriLite 0.9.4.

There are also some new features in next version. Now it’s possible to define screensaver timeout and backlight durations. It’s also easier to integrate your existing Flash Lite screensavers, in the new version.

We expect it to be ready at the end of this month and planning to make the first release in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. If you are going there, don’t forget to visit us;)

YouTube coming to iPhone06.21.07

According to Apple’s press release, YouTube will be available on iPhone on 29th June. YouTube will not be fully supported on iPhone, but will only play H.264 encoded movie clips (not Flash obviously) .

To achieve higher video quality and longer battery life on mobile devices, YouTube has begun encoding their videos in the advanced H.264 format, and iPhone will be the first mobile device to use the H.264-encoded videos. Over 10,000 videos will be available on June 29, and YouTube will be adding more each week until their full catalog of videos is available in the H.264 format this fall.

Youtube mobile06.17.07

Happy Sunday news from Jukka from S60 Multimedia blog; apparently YouTube Mobile is live! Only thing you need is a handset that supports streaming video (RTSP/3GP with H263/AMR) and a unlimited data plan or WLAN.

Site warns you about data traffic and recommends an unlimited data plan.

My first trial was not very successful, due my lovely E61 didn’t let me to use WLAN in Offline mode. Another attempt also was defeated, telling me that I do not have enough bandwidth. I don’t know what happened (most probably E61 didn’t like the first video I chose) but my third trial worked on Free Hugs champaign. It feels cool:)
