E-seminar: Connecting to external data services using Flash Lite01.12.07

Here is an upcoming Adobe Flash Lite online live seminar; Connecting to external data service using Flash Lite by Alessandro. Seminar is on Wednesday, 24th January 2007 at 13:00 – 14:00 US/Eastern (20:00-21:00 Helsinki) and free to register.

We will compare the API and look at best practices to use these capabilities for various platforms. The Flash Lite 2.0 example uses these API to retrieve text, images, audio, and video from the Forum Nokia RSS feed and from a remote server.
We will examine the various classes to retrieve data from a remote location, including get URL, LoadVars, MovieClipLoader, XMLSockets, and Sound and Video. We will also provide information on tools and data services.

Porting Flash Lite 1.1 content to Flash Lite 2.008.25.06

    A new online seminar from Adobe on 27th September 2006 7:30-8:30 US/Eastern (14:30-15:30 Europe/Helsinki time).

Today many devices support the Flash Lite 1.1 player. But considering the fact that Flash Lite 2.0 has been launched by Adobe to the developer community and Flash Lite 2.0 would be the technology to watch out for on the future handsets, most people would want their content to be available through either or both these platforms, or atleast look at convenient ways to convert their existing content from Flash Lite 1.1 to Flash Lite 2.0.
