I am honored to be a Forum Nokia Champion this year :) I am glad to share this opportunity with other great guys from Flash Lite community and new Forum Nokia Champions; Leonardo and Scott. This is a positive beginning, as the number of Flash Lite people increasing in Nokia developer community.

UGUR KANER NAMED AS A FORUM NOKIA CHAMPION

Ugur Kaner has been named a member of Forum Nokia Champion, a recognition and reward program for top mobile developers worldwide. Every six months, Forum Nokia, world’s largest dedicated mobile application developer community, invites outstanding members of the forum.nokia.com community to accept a one-year membership in this reward program. Few updates to KuneriLite just came out. Various issues are fixed, plus Flash Lite 3 support was added. For Flash Lite 3 support, read the instructions from our Wiki.

So, here I am in Barcelona, getting ready for a great 4 days in Mobile World Congress and maybe a couple of days for relaxing. It’s my first time here and I am definitely amazed with the weather and the city (almost 12 degrees and sunny!). After dark and cold Oulu, it feels like summer :) I will try to post latest pictures and videos from here, so stay tuned.

As we promised, here is the latest KuneriLite with new features and improvements, just before Mobile World Congress. There are many exciting features, as well as improvements.

- KuneriLite Emulator to emulate your Flash Lite projects on PC
- System plugin with commands to execute 3rd part applications and entering test with input text form
- File plugin command to detect current installation medium (Phone memory or Memory card)
- Upload/Download plugin command LoadVariables, to replace Flash Lite loadVariables functionality and have more control over Access Point management.
- Various improvements

One of the new improvement is that we reduced KuneriLite into one version and removed Basic, Professional and Commercial version separation to avoid confusions. Now, you can get KuneriLite without any registration (as usual), request a Non-Commercial version or buy Commercial version. We also created a Pre-Sales forum in order to answer your questions before purchasing KuneriLite.

I also would like to mention once more that, you can use KuneriLite Wizard to pack your Flash Lite projects into S60 SIS installers for free. Yes, even for commercial ones.

JoikuSpot is a free mobile software solution that turns Nokia Smartphones to WLAN HotSpots.

JoikuSpot software is installed directly to the phone. When switched on, laptops and ipods can establish instant and fast wireless internet connection via smartphone’s JoikuSpot access point using phone’s own 3G internet connection.

Youtube announced their own YouTube mobile client today.

Mobile player is beta, its only available for Nokia’s N73, N95, E65, 6110, 6120 and SonyEricsson k800 and w880.

We uploaded a sneak preview of next KISS60 version on YouTube. Most significant improvement is the new User Interface which is pure Flash Lite 1.1 (works much faster on real device than the video). Behind the scenes, there is a robust architecture powered by KuneriLite 0.9.4.

There are also some new features in next version. Now it’s possible to define screensaver timeout and backlight durations. It’s also easier to integrate your existing Flash Lite screensavers, in the new version.

We expect it to be ready at the end of this month and planning to make the first release in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. If you are going there, don’t forget to visit us;)

Fresh report from strategyanalytics about Flash Lite market growth:

Adobe’s Flash Lite technology has taken off rapidly in the last 18 months. Cumulatively, over 301 million FL devices, of which over 90% are cellphones, have been shipped since 2003. The base continues to strengthen in Japan, but in 2008 we will see shipments of Flash Lite-enabled cellphones in the rest of the Asia Pacific region and Western Europe exceed shipments in Japan for the first time since the launch of Flash Lite. A further 1.4 billion FL-enabled phones are expected to be shipped globally over the next three years alone, at which point over 46% of phones shipped are likely to support Flash Lite. This report gives a global forecast of the market for Flash Lite-enabled phones with detailed analysis of 23 countries, and splits by Flash Lite version, air interface and network operator.
