Kuneri ranks 14th among 1100 Finnish hi-tech companies on the web02.04.09

According to Blue White Partners‘ investigation on over 1100 Finnish hi-tech companies’ visibility on the web, Kuneri ranks the 14th, where F-Secure ranks the first and Nokia ranks the 5th. The score is made by investigating content semantics, language, search engine rank and index, and presence in social media.

Considering our Google Page Rank dropped from 8 to 5 in 6 months, we find this rather surprising (we would expect worse :)). If you a Finnish (or I suppose global) company and would like some professional help; check Blue White Partners out.

KuneriLite is application of the week on Forum Nokia02.04.09

KuneriLite is the application of the week on Forum Nokia in Enterprise category. A good motivation boost for us :)

KuneriLite, from privately held mobile innovation company Kuneri Ltd., is a rapid application development add-on toolkit for the S60 3rd Edition SDK that makes it easy to develop applications using Flash Lite from Adobe. The toolkit allows developers to create applications without any prior knowledge of either C++ or the Symbian OS. This application is a part of Forum Nokia’s 2008 Innovation Series.

Kuneri on Helsinki Times – Small mobile startup with big success12.12.08

We are happy to see Kuneri is featured with “Small mobile start-up with big success” article on Helsinki Times, an independent weekly newspaper covering news and events in Finland.

For such a small company, Kuneri is definitely attracting a lot of attention. Kuneri is an Oulu-based mobile innovation company known for its Flash Lite-oriented technologies. Earlier this year telecom giant Nokia chose Kuneri along with eight other companies to join its Forum Nokia Innovation Series. The company has come a long way in two years.

David interviewed me last week and article is already on the paper this week.

Kuneri is selected for Forum Nokia Innovation Series Program11.24.08

Another great news from Kuneri. We are very proud to be globally recognized (once again) and take our place among 8 other most innovative companies in the world selected by Nokia with KuneriLite. See the complete press release by Nokia.

Nokia today announced the selection of nine additional mobile application developers from Asia, Europe and the Americas to expand its 2008 Forum Nokia Innovation Series program.  The program provides select small- and mid-sized developers with business and market support while showcasing their next generation mobile applications and services for consumer and business audiences worldwide.

The nine exceptional companies recognized today join an initial group of six North American and two European developers chosen in the third quarter of 2008 to participate in the Innovation Series Program. The latest program participants address a broad spectrum of applications, including mobile voice reminders, data protection and device security solutions, point-to-point travel navigation, Adobe® Flash® Lite(TM) mobile content for sales and marketing, and reward-based advertising over mobile devices.
Developers chosen to participate in the 2008 Forum Nokia Innovation Series program cleared multiple selection hurdles over the course of the past year as part of the Innovation Series selection process, which included internal Nokia reviews and the screening of application features and functionality by consumer focus groups around the world. Each participant in the 2008 Forum Nokia Innovation Series was required to demonstrate that their application or service provided specific benefits to Nokia mobile device users not otherwise available, and that a clear market demand existed for such a solution.

Kuneri announces Pikkoo – Web 2.0 service for mobile screensavers and wallpapers10.28.08

Mobile Summit, Stockholm – 28th October 2008 – Kuneri, the leading Finnish mobile innovation company, today announced the closed beta availability of their groundbreaking product Pikkoo — a social community for anyone to download, create and share rich mobile screensavers and wallpapers for free.

Mobile screensavers and wallpapers are very popular, reaching millions of screens every day; however the technology is very old and does not offer any functionality. Utilizing Adobe Flash Lite and Kuneri technologies, Pikkoo makes personalization and interaction possible, supporting all handsets available today. Using Pikkoo, anyone can easily design their own content, then share it with their friends via popular social utilities like Facebook and MySpace.

“We have been creating innovative enabling mobile technologies for developers. Now it’s time for us to use it for ourselves and show how powerful they can be.” says Ugur Kaner, CEO of the Finnish company.  “Pikkoo is not only a novel online platform providing mobile content to end users, but also a unique marketing channel for brands and creative marketers. Imagine your brand in front of a person for more than 20 times a day. That’s what we call high impression.” he continues.

Pikkoo is available on an invitation basis and expected to be publicly available before the end of 2008. Downloading, creating and sharing content is free of charge. With the first release, a selection of widgets such as time, date or battery/signal strength data can be served with the content; followed by RSS and location based data in the following  releases. Furthermore, easy content management and distribution channels are available for different platforms starting with Symbian S60.

More information can be found by visiting www.pikkoo.com or contacting Kuneri.
