Mobile development goes web 2.0: SWFPack09.16.08

Today; I would like to make the introduction of a new innovation. I don’t use ‘innovation’ word to be cool or look corporate; I really mean it. I will try to make the value proposition in 3 short steps;

  1. Flash Lite developers have to pack their content for distribution
  2. Packaging is a hassle for developers on Windows, and impossible for Mac & Linux users
  3. SWFPack is a novel online service offering a cross platform, zero-install and easy to use Web 2.0 solution.

Yes, yet another innovation from Kuneri (like KuneriLite and KISS60). No installation, no prerequisites, no Windows jail, no SDKs, no set up struggles, no waiting, no payment.. Give your SWF file, SWFPack prepares your SIS file in a second. Can not be simpler; can not be faster; can not be easier.

SWFPack is scheduled to be released on 23rd October if everything goes fine. We just wanted to give a short introduction with a little sneak peek. Please check out current features and screenshots below, and we will be very happy to receive your feelings and even early feature requests ;)

  • Cross Platform (Online; works on any modern browser)
  • No installation
  • Fast ( 1-2 seconds to compile )
  • Easy (Web 2.0 UI)

City Lite and free olympic screensavers and wallpapers08.20.08

Just spotted City Lite, the global winner of Forum Nokia Code Camp competition got featured on Nokia and S60 sites.

City Lite is a nightlife guide built upon Flash Lite from Adobe. It provides information about nightlife events in the cities to which you travel, with outstanding graphics and animations. It is available for all S60 devices that can display Flash Lite versions 2.0 or later. It allows you to browse movies, restaurants, and entertainment events. City Lite also allows you to make calls directly from links embedded in the application, making it easy to book tickets and make reservations. The intuitive navigation interface puts you one click away from maps, phone numbers, e-mail, and Web site information.

You can also grab free Flash Lite screensavers and wallpapers with Olympics theme. Here is the one with battery indicator, and one with the signal indicator. Thanks to Poly and all Ideas Lite team!

Upload your pictures to Flickr with geotagging using Flash Lite06.27.08

Alessandro did it again and created a great article together with sample code and application FliKun. With FliKun, you can upload any picture from your Nokia S60 phone to Flickr with GeoTagging, with Flash Lite and KuneriLite!

Today, we’ll see how it’s possible to build a Flickr uploader in FlashLite using KuneriLite, geotagging them with the current GPS location.
