Close the lid will automatically put machine into sleep mode , press the shutdown button select sleep 2. Any volume device cd , network device can be umounted ( ejected ) bu dragging to trash it changes to eject icon or select it and press apple key and e 3 & 4. Drag applications into Applications directory to install if there is no installer in the .dmg file and drag to trash to uninstall if there is no unistaller Response to your questions
